Saturday 27th / Sunday 28th October 2012 (two-day course)
(starting 10am Saturday 27th, ending 6pm Sunday 28th)

A weekend course in Birnam (Perthshire) for advanced, intermediate and elementary players tutored by Lynda Coffin and Laurence Perkins

In 2012, this hugely popular wind chamber weekend celebrates two anniversaries - a battle and a composer! 1812 was 200 years ago, and the Finale of Tchaikovsky’s legendary overture is a real fun piece where every player can join in - there will be graded parts for all players at every level. It is also 100 years since the death of Claude Debussy, who’s music will be included as part of a varied and enjoyable programme of mixed repertoire in graded groups.

A 90-minute lunch break each day allows for a short walk/exploration of this attractive area, and on Saturday evening there will be the ever-popular visit to the live music pub in Dunkeld for food, drink, impromptu music-making and a chance to relax and chat with other players.

Course fee: £110 per player

Course fee includes all tutored sessions, but not meals or accommodation. Information about Birnam and neighbouring Dunkeld (they are only one mile apart) can be found on www.perthshire.co.uk/index.asp?lm=49 and accommodation details are on www.perthshire.co.uk/index.asp?cat=Accommodation
